Trolls are kinda closed-minded people behind a screen. Their anonymity makes them stronger and gives them the guts to say something that they would not say in person. To take what they say into consideration, is simply giving in to an irrelevant situation. Troll's actions are somewhat inevitable but there are certain ways or examples that one can possibly react to it. Although it's difficult to avoid the comments and harassment, the best advice I would give is to block out that person that is giving off negativity. Avoiding the hatred and not letting it effect you, is a way of practice that would mentally make you stronger. A victim should behave by blocking the person or politely responding even though you don't want to and you would rather fight back, it simply makes you look like the bigger person if you give a polite response or no response at all.
(btw when we read the passages in this unit, did anyone else think of a little dude with prickly long hair and barnacle blemishes whenever they said the word "troll" ?)
I completely agree with you about the ignoring the troll part. I always think that trolls are just looking for some attention so the best response would be to not give them the satisfaction of your attention, and also think of a troll the way you described at the end.
