As for what I eat, I am more conscious about what I eat and want to eat more healthy. I've watched and researched all about the food industry and it's made me want to eat better not only for myself but for things like the farmers and animals. Seeing how the food industry treats their workers, farmers, and the animals they take care of made me disappointed in what they do. If I could do at least a little it may make a difference. People have started buying more organic foods because it is healthier and I think I might do the same.
My consciousness feels bad for what I eat and for basically supporting the food industry by buying fast food and eating unhealthy. By learning all of these things about the food industry it makes me want to try and make a change. I know that it will take a while to change my eating habits but it is worth a try. I think anything is worth a try to make a difference and a change for the better.
I agree with you that we should slowly change for the better, but it might be a rather long process and some what difficult. The problem isn't to not eat inorganic foods, but every other small thing that affects it. Prices of food are making it difficult to eat healthier and better. Additionally, the younger generations are basically infected by this food epidemic. What children crave will always be unhealthy and bad for our health, and it is going to take a lot to change how we process this. Everyone wants to eat healthy, however, will everyone be able to with this society?
ReplyDeleteI too think that our country is awesome but the food industry isn't. The way animals are treated in unacceptable; however, I love burgers, chicken, and different types of steak that I couldn't ever give up eating meat. I could make more of a conscious effort and not eat as much of it and eat more greens. I think there are many ways we can eat better, we just have to prioritize.
ReplyDeleteI also think that the government isn't doing their part in protecting the average consumer by regulating/enforcing their own rules about food. The change is happening, to switch to organic foods, but it might take a long time before we will see any change.I think that if more people switch to organic food maybe the prices will decrease because of how little quantity they are making now, maybe if we had more demand, the farmers would produce more making it more cheap.
ReplyDeleteFood Inc. showed us how the food system works in our country, but I want to see what it is like in other countries. For example, how can China feed their huge population? I know McDonald's exists there so is that food system similar to ours. Maybe, compared to other countries, our food system isn't that horrible.

ReplyDeleteI agree with the government doing a poor job on managing the food that is distributed to us. I feel like they act like they care but they really don,t. We aren't being told the truth about what is in our food even though the FDA is supposed to help with that.
