Considering the information I have taken in about anonymity these past weeks, it has both a negative and positive or beneficial side to the situation. Although it may bring offensive actions or harassment such as trolling, I have to say that anonymity is ultimately an necessity to the internet. I do support the theory of anonymity online; it provides a span of awareness by saying a vast amount of things and sharing ideas, techniques or comfort without being exposed. It's a form of being comfortable to the public. There's a bigger situation when it comes to anonymity than just trolls, we are getting an advantage and can possibly revolutionize modern day through it, just like the example in the TED Talk video that was shown in class today. Everything has a glitch in a system and trolls just so happen to be the glitch in this situation. So, like many of us have said before, I recommend the best thing a victim can do is simply ignore, block or unfollow, even though it's difficult. Anonymity is more important and useful than cyber harassment.
