Changed Perspective
So for the past week or so in ERWC we have been talking about what goes in our food, how it's made, and where it comes from. I have come to realize that all food comes from somewhere. It is not just and abstract idea. It comes from farms from all over the U.S. but the question is which farm? There are the farms that are true genuine farms that raise there crops and animals to have a full, natural life. And there are the farms that raise their animals all the same in a little box only to produce more meat and make money. I personally (and many others agree) would rather pay for and eat the meat that lived its live to its fullest rather than a cookie cutter version of it. Furthermore, food industries take these meats and crops and add so much extra and unhealthy chemicals to them so that they can be sold in the grocery store and last longer without being cooked yet. They also use them to make precooked meals simply to save people the time. People are falling for this and spending all there money on it as well. I am a victim of this too. I understand that we don't always have the time to cooked a fresh meal for ourselves. But after reading a few articles, listening to a few speakers, and watching a documentary, it has changed my mind a little about the foods I put in my body. This doesn't mean I'm going to completely stop eating every unhealthy thing out there..I mean lets face it, I'm still a teenager. But, I am going to be cautious about the things I eat and question where they came from. I'm even a little inspired to grow some of my own foods. Who knows, maybe I'll have my own little farm one day.
