Since hearing Madeline's talk on Monday and Ron Finely's TED Talks I have had an increasing interest in growing my own food and possibly be healthier. The Slow Food Movement is a non profit organization founded in 1989. Their goal is to promote food cultures, slow the progress of fast food, and serve to give people an interest in what they eat. Since its beginning the slow food movement and expanded to help people in over 160 countries. They aid people in access to clean, fair and good food. Food that is clean does not harm the environment, food that is good is flavorsome and healthy, unlike most processed foods, and fair food is accessible and is a fair price for the consumer. They also aim to protect the environment, culture, and politics in order to bring about change in the areas they are affecting. The slow food movement believes that our individual choices can influence both how food is produced and how it is distributed serving the politics side of food. The slow food movement is a quick growing, widespread movement.
