The problem that our society is currently facing is that more people are becoming more obese because fast food is getting cheaper. Fast food companies are lowering food prices and creating meals that allow you to get more for paying less. Instead of people spending their time and money on unhealthy foods, they should be investing their money on foods that will benefit their health and not ruin it. The main problem that people are noticing is that foods that we should be eating cost more than foods that we shouldn't be eating. Healthier foods for example fruits and vegetables are seen to be more expensive than those high in fat and sugar. An example of an everyday food item is store bought frozen pizza. In the article that I read, it states that researchers find that healthier diet plans cost more than everyday unhealthy foods. For example fruits, vegetables, fish and nuts VS. processed foods, meats, and refined grains. After researchers studied each diet plan, they concluded that a healthy diet cost about $1.50 more than an unhealthy diet. Studies say that unhealthy foods cost less because the food policies focus more on production. In the article, it says that we should tax unhealthy items and use the revenue to subsidize healthy choices. When this action takes place, health items will then become less expensive. I think this is a great idea because we save money and stay healthy. Many of us may wonder why no one is eating healthier when all the resources are there. Some people think they don’t have an options but they really do.

I agree with you Sarah 100% when you said that fast food companies are lowering there prices so that people can get more there money. And that the healthy food that we find at the market is to expensive and people lean toward more of a frozen entree like you said a frozen pizza. Obesity has become a big problem in the world and it is up to us to help find a way for the epidemic to stop spreading through out the United States.
