Organic food is better

The more I read about the benefits of organic food, the more I want to contribute to buying organic food not only to help myself, but also to help to soil and the animals and the environment. I was reading one article where it talked about how many times apples and many other fragile fruits are sprayed with pesticides. On average, apples are sprayed about 16 times with 36 different pesticides! I don't know about you but I know I do not wish to ingest so many pesticides. Now many people think that organic produce has no pesticides. That is false. Organic produce is allowed to use pesticides, but only a certain amount. Pesticides contaminate the soil and ground water which eventually get back to the wildlife and harms them. I really would want to start buying organic fruits and vegtables more often.

  1. I didn't know that organic food was allowed to have pesticides. I'm with you on how I want to eat more organic food because I've heard of the benefits, but the only thing that is stopping me is the prices of the organic food. They could sometimes be more pricey than others and I don't know if I can always have that type of money to pay for the organic food. I think others like myself have the same mindset that they would want to eat healthier but it is expensive.

  2. Organic food IS expensive. One time, my mom was going all out with a diet plan she chose and all she bought was organic stuff, and she hit her goal in losing weight and being healthier, but it put such a dent in her wallet. That's probably why we stopped.

  5. It is so much easier to obtain food from all the fast food chain because they are so accessible to people. They're cheap, and practically everywhere. Plus they have more advertisement then organic foods do. I don't think organic foods will flourish in this country just yet because of how big these fast food industries are. They simply out-compete the organic food chain.
